A Washington County man who assaulted his romantic partner, threatened her with a knife, and stole her car will spend more than eight years in state prison.

The Washington County District Attorney's Office announced on July 20 Jaycob Holten was sentenced to 100 months after being convicted of second-degree assault (domestic violence), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

He will serve the sentence at the Oregon Department of Corrections.

The attack happened on Nov. 26, 2025. Holten assaulted his partner and threatened her with a knife before stealing her car, according to the DA's office. The victim's roommate intervened during the assault, allowing the victim to escape.

Her injuries were severe enough to require surgery.

At the time of the November attack, Holten was already wanted on a felony warrant for a separate domestic violence incident.

Tactical team called to Tigard home

After the assault, investigators received information that Holten was at his mother's house in Tigard and was possibly armed with a gun.

The threat prompted a large law enforcement response from the Tigard Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff's Office's Tactical Negotiations Team, according to authorities.

When officers arrived, Holten agreed to exit the home peacefully.
