Every school-issued Chromebook in the Hillsboro School District will be monitored starting Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The district announced Friday, Sept. 11, that it is rolling out Securly, a software platform that lets families monitor their child's browsing activity on the school device, control internet access at home and receive a weekly usage snapshot. Families should watch for a registration email from Securly and complete the sign-up before the launch date.
The rollout follows a pilot at three schools that the district previewed Aug. 21. At the time, a full rollout was planned for mid- to late September if the pilot went well. The Sept. 16 date confirms that timeline.
The district serves students across 36 school sites, including Glencoe, Hilhi, Century and Liberty high schools. All families with students using district Chromebooks should expect the registration email ahead of the Wednesday launch.
