Hillsboro residents looking for free programs have a full slate at Brookwood Library on July 14, with bilingual storytimes for toddlers, one-on-one tech help, and English classes all under one roof.

Toddler Storytime and Cuentos Bilingües (Bilingual Storytime) begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Brookwood branch, 2850 NE Brookwood Parkway. Both are recurring weekly programs open to walk-ins.

Digital Navigator sessions

Starting at 10:30 a.m. and again at noon on July 14, AmeriCorps Digital Navigators offer free, bilingual one-on-one tech help at Brookwood Library. The sessions cover anything from printing a document to learning how to use a smartphone.

The program places two navigators at Hillsboro libraries through a partnership between Washington County Cooperative Library Services and American Connection Corps. One serves at Brookwood, the other at Shute Park. During the 2024–2025 program year, navigators across WCCLS libraries helped 834 people by appointment or drop-in, according to WCCLS. With two navigators serving in 2025–2026, the system anticipated reaching even more residents.

No appointment is needed. The service is free.

Goodwill Industries offers a free Advanced ESL class (Level 3) at Brookwood Library from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. The class is drop-in; no registration required.
