Clean Water Services is filling four seats on its advisory commission, including one reserved for a Hillsboro-area resident, with applications open through Monday, August 31.

The open neighborhood seat requires applicants to live in Washington County Commission District 4, which covers large sections of Hillsboro, Aloha, and Cornelius.

The other three openings are for a homebuilder or developer representative, a business representative, and an environmental organization representative. All four are four-year terms.

Five CWAC members serve on the CWS Budget Committee alongside the five-member board. That committee voted in May 2026 to approve the proposed fiscal year 2026-27 budget, which the board adopted at $675.3 million on Tuesday, June 9. C

WS provides wastewater and stormwater services to more than 610,000 people across Washington County, working with 12 partner cities including Hillsboro.

Who can apply

The District 4 neighborhood seat requires applicants to live within the commission district's boundaries. The three other seats require professional ties to the CWS service area: homebuilders or developers, non-development business owners or managers, and employees or managers of environmental organizations.

Meeting schedule and District 4 context

CWAC meets on the second Wednesday of each month in the evening at the Hillsboro Highway building. Meetings last about two hours.

The District 4 commission seat carries added local significance this year. The Washington County Commission District 4 seat itself is headed to a November 2026 runoff between former Hillsboro Mayor Steve Callaway and Hillsboro City Councilor Kipperlyn Sinclair, after Commissioner Jerry Willey announced his retirement. The new CWAC member will advise a board whose District 4 representative is still being decided by voters.
