Five different Hillsboro Hops hit home runs on Wednesday, Aug. 5, tying a franchise record and powering a 10-5 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils at Gesa Stadium in Pasco for the team's sixth consecutive victory.

It was only the second time in franchise history that five Hops went deep in a single game, according to the team's MiLB.com recap. José Mejía, Jose Alpuria, Kenny Castillo, Avery Owusu-Asiedu and Yassel Soler all connected, staking Hillsboro to a 7-0 lead through four innings before the Dust Devils mounted a late rally.

Starting pitcher Jacob Steinmetz set the tone. In his first start for Hillsboro this season after working back from injury, Steinmetz retired the first 10 batters he faced and threw four hitless innings, striking out four while facing just 14 hitters. For the second straight night, Hops pitching carried a no-hit bid into the sixth inning before Jorge Ruiz singled off reliever Rio Britton.

Mejía broke the game open in the third with a three-run homer to left-center, his fourth of the season. Alpuria, making his High-A debut, followed with a solo shot in the same inning and reached base four times on the night, going 1-for-2 with three walks.

Castillo opened the fourth with a solo blast, and Owusu-Asiedu launched his team-leading 12th homer immediately after to make it 7-0. Soler capped the power display with a two-run shot in the eighth, his 11th of the year, to tie the franchise mark.

Jakey Josepha led the offense with three hits, three runs scored and a triple. Arizona Diamondbacks No. 2 prospect Kayson Cunningham added a sacrifice fly and scored the game's final run in the ninth on a Tri-City error.

Britton (6-4) earned the win in relief, allowing five runs over five innings while striking out six. Tri-City's Capri Ortiz cut into the lead with a two-out grand slam in the eighth, but Britton closed out the inning to preserve the victory.

The win improved Hillsboro to 17-21 in the Northwest League's second half, four games behind first-place Eugene, according to the Hillsboro News Times. The Hops' streak began with three wins over Everett from July 31 through Aug. 2, as we reported Aug. 2, and continued with back-to-back wins at Tri-City.

The six-game series continues Thursday, Aug. 6, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. at Gesa Stadium.
