Willow & Ash, a family-owned gift and custom-printing shop, is closing its Forest Grove location and moving everything to downtown Hillsboro.

Owners Heather and Harry Rhoade announced Oct. 30 on social media that they would not renew the lease on their Forest Grove storefront after four years, as first reported by the Hillsboro News Times. The couple cited the difficulty of running two shops that both handle custom work.

Nov. 26 will be the last day to shop at the Forest Grove store. Closing sales are planned daily until then.

All retail and custom services will continue at the Rhoades' Hillsboro location, 244 E. Main St., which opened last year. The shop sells gifts and specializes in custom apparel, embroidery, engraving, screen printing and personalized gift baskets and boxes.

"After much consideration about the future … we have made the tough decision not to renew the lease in Forest Grove," the business wrote on social media, according to the News Times.

Other Forest Grove businesses in Hillsboro

Willow & Ash is among several Forest Grove businesses that have expanded into or relocated to downtown Hillsboro in recent years.

Heather and Harry Rhoade first opened Willow & Ash in 2022, taking over the former Daniela's Gifts on Main Street in Forest Grove. They added the Hillsboro storefront last year.

Franko's Hot Dogs opened its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 137 S.E. Third Ave. in Hillsboro in July, according to the Forest Grove News-Times. Co-owner Justin McDonald said the move was driven by the need for a permanent kitchen.

3 Goats Vineyard and Winery relocated its tasting room to 139 S.E. Second Ave. in Hillsboro in May 2025. Urban River Spirits, a Forest Grove-born mixer business, opened Washington County's first zero-proof lounge at 380 E. Main St. in Hillsboro in 2025.

What's next for the Forest Grove space

The Forest Grove storefront won't stay empty long. Craftea, described as a craft café where customers can buy supplies, work on projects and enjoy snacks and drinks, plans to open in the space in December, according to Willow & Ash.

The Rhoade family thanked Forest Grove customers for four years of support. "We're still close, so don't be a stranger — come see us!" the family wrote.
