Century and Glencoe saw their boys soccer seasons end Tuesday, Oct. 27, each losing in the OSAA 6A qualification round.

Century fell 4-0 to Grants Pass. Glencoe lost 4-2 at Mountainside. The results, reported by the Hillsboro News Times, mean neither Hillsboro program will play in the 6A state bracket this year.

Century shut out by Grants Pass

The Jaguars posted an 8-2-2 overall record this season, according to MaxPreps. Century went 6-1-2 at home and 2-1 on the road. That .750 winning percentage made the 4-0 shutout a jarring end to a strong season.

Grants Pass controlled the match from start to finish, holding Century scoreless. The loss came in what the OSAA designates as the qualification round, the final step before the state championship bracket.

Glencoe falls at Mountainside

Glencoe's boys soccer team described the Oct. 27 contest as a "play-in game for the OSAA 6A Boys Soccer Championships playoffs" in a game-day post on Instagram. The Crimson Tide traveled to Mountainside for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Glencoe scored twice but could not keep pace with Mountainside's four goals. The Crimson Tide finished with a 5-4-4 overall record, per MaxPreps. They went 4-2-2 at home and 1-2-2 away.

The road struggles showed up again in the qualification round. Glencoe managed just one away win all season before falling at Mountainside.

What's next in the 6A bracket

Grants Pass and Mountainside advance to the first round, set for Saturday, Oct. 31. The second round follows Tuesday, Nov. 3, according to The Outlook. Specific bracket matchups for the two advancing teams have not been announced in available records.
